About Denny Moe
Since opening his barbershop’s doors in January of 2006, Denny Moe has hosted many events that aim to uplift and empower the community. Denny Moe’s largest community effort is Cutting for a Cure, a non-profit that hosts a 48-Hour Health Fair and Haircutting Marathon. This event provides free access to healthcare and resources while promoting healthier lifestyles in underserved minority communities – particularly among black men. Cutting for a Cure’s 48-Hour Health Fair and Haircutting Marathon has garnered national recognition putting him at the forefront of local businesses impacting change in their communities.
Denny is a recent member of the Community Advisory Board for an NIH-Funded study to improve Organ Donor Registration among black men with the NYU School of Medicine. He is also a community engagement consultant for the MRSA project for the Clinical Directors Network (CDN) in collaboration with Rockefeller University.
